Amana Healthcare, brought to you by M42 and Mumtalakat, is pleased to announce the first Amana Healthcare facility in Bahrain, located in Al Jasra will open in late 2025. This world-class hospital will provide long-term care and post-acute rehabilitation services.
Amana Healthcare provides long-term care for adult patients with complex medical needs in an inpatient setting. Multidisciplinary care will be provided though Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Physician and Intensive care unit (ICU) physicians, geriatricians, nurses, therapists, and a patient & family experience team who work collaboratively to enhance the quality of life for those patients. It also offers specialized rehabilitation for individuals who require inpatient rehabilitation following a life-altering event, such as stroke, brain injury, spine injury, joint replacement, or amputation.
Job Summary: To lead and elevate the financial governance and strategic financial direction of a high-performing healthcare organization. The Finance Director will partner closely with the CEO and executive leadership team to shape the group's financial health, ensure robust compliance in a regulated environment, and support sustainable business growth in Bahrain.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Strategic Financial Leadership
- Lead the development and execution of the organization's 5–10 year financial strategy, aligned with corporate goals and shareholder expectations.
- Deliver financial insights to support long-term business planning, market expansion, portfolio diversification, and healthcare delivery transformation.
- Provide strategic support on M&A, capital investments, and strategic partnerships, including financial due diligence and post-merger integration.
2. Board & Shareholder Engagement
- Serve as the finance lead in Board and Shareholder meetings, preparing detailed reporting packs, dashboards, and risk-adjusted forecasts.
- Communicate complex financial scenarios with clarity and transparency, aligning stakeholders on key risks, opportunities, and outcomes.
- Ensure full alignment between financial reporting, dividend policies, and shareholder return strategies.
3. Financial Governance & Risk
- Implement and monitor a robust system of internal controls, ensuring compliance with IFRS, Bahrain VAT regulations, and National Health Regulatory Authority (NHRA) financial policies.
- Manage the external audit process and liaise with the Audit Committee and internal audit function to ensure effective risk oversight.
- Establish a group-wide enterprise risk management framework that integrates clinical, operational, and financial risks.
4. Capital Management & Treasury
- Optimize capital structure and oversee debt, equity, and working capital strategies to support business continuity and growth.
- Manage relationships with banks, lenders, investors, and government financing institutions.
- Lead treasury functions, including cash flow forecasting, investment planning, and foreign exchange risk mitigation.
5. Operational Finance & Performance Management
- Oversee group budgeting, financial forecasting, and cost center performance tracking across all business units.
- Partner with clinical and operations leadership to optimize unit economics (cost per patient, occupancy rates, ARPU, etc.) and drive productivity.
- Drive efficiency initiatives, including procurement cost optimization, revenue cycle enhancement, and lean financial processes.
- Lead, mentor, and upskill a high-performance finance team, embedding a strong culture of accountability, ethical governance, and continuous improvement.
- Build succession pipelines and talent frameworks aligned with organizational growth.
- Foster cross-functional collaboration between finance, legal, compliance, operations, and IT.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's in finance, Accounting, Economics or similar. Master's in finance, MBA, or Executive Education from a globally recognized institution preferred.
- Professional Certifications: CPA, ACCA, CA, CMA, or CFA preferred.
- Experience: Minimum 12–15 years of progressive finance experience, with at least 5 years in a senior financial leadership position within a healthcare group, hospital network, or large medical services organization.
- Proven experience interfacing with Boards, shareholders, regulatory authorities, and external auditors.
- Demonstrated success in leading financial strategy.
