Assistant - Technical Accounts

We are seeking an Assistant - Technical Accounting to join our team. The role involves performing technical checks and processing underwriting contracts and statements of account (SOA), as assigned by the Officer. This includes calculating financial adjustments to ensure compliance with contractual terms and completing related administrative tasks. The Technician will also conduct the first-level review of all transactions before they are submitted for approval.

Main Responsibilities:

  1. Receiving assigned SOA or underwriting contract
  2. Performing technical checks against contract terms and policy setup by the UW for discrepancies related to deductions, portfolios, premium and loss reserves, XL adjustments, sliding scale commissions, and loss participation clauses
  3. Calculating reserves and adjustments, and reconciling with client figures
  4. Flagging reserve releases, retained amounts, and cash call debits and credits in the flagging system, and checking for missing accounts
  5. Processing Debit/Credit notes based on SOA or UW contract
  6. Updating the E-accounting gateway with contract and processing references
  7. Updating the workflow tracking system with all relevant information and statuses
  8. Conducting first-level document review within authority limits before submission for Officer approval
  9. Communicating with relevant parties regarding discrepancies and mismatches
  10. Archiving documents to the DMS and filing physical papers after approval of Debit/Credit notes
  11. Printing Debit/Credit notes as needed
  12. Providing booking samples for internal/external auditors

Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • University Diploma or equivalent
  • Proficiency in English (reading, writing, speaking); Arabic and French are a plus
  • Strong data analysis skills and attention to detail
  • Reasoning skills to understand and execute instructions
  • Basic accounting and insurance knowledge
