VAM Systems is currently looking for a Data Engineer for our Bahrain operations with the following skillsets and terms & conditions:

Qualification

BE in Computer Science and Engineering

Professional Training

SQL Development, SAS EG, SAS DI, Object-oriented Programming (e.g., C#, Java)

Experience Required
  1. Experience in the following tools (3+ years):
    1. SAS Management Console
    2. SAS DI, SAS Enterprise Guide
    3. Base SAS
    4. SAS Web Report Studio, SAS Delivery Portal, SAS OLAP Cube Studio, SAS Information Maps, SAS BI
    5. SAS Stored Process, SAS Datasets & Library
  2. Experience to configure/install applications on servers (Windows/Linux/Unix) and basic knowledge of DNS, Ports, and Firewalls (3+ years)
  3. Experience managing and developing distributed systems and clusters for batch and streaming data (Hadoop/Spark and/or Kafka/Flink)
  4. Experience handling semi-structured data sets (e.g., JSON, XML) (3+ years)
  5. Experience in C# or Java (3+ years)
  6. Banking and Finance, Financial accounting, and Reporting Environment
  7. Expertise in writing advanced SQL queries, stored procedures, and functions
  8. Experience with ETL tools like SAS platform tools and Microsoft SQL Server
  9. Understanding of Financial Reporting (Balance Sheet/Profit and Loss) and Risk Reporting
  10. Development within databases, specifically Microsoft SQL Server and/or Oracle (minimum 3+ years)
Responsibilities
  1. Consolidate and analyze financial data (budgets, income statement forecasts, Balance Sheet, Profit and Loss)
  2. Build stored procedures and ETL jobs to reconcile transactions and correct data discrepancies
  3. Contribute to data warehouse design and management of relational database systems
  4. Develop SQL Server T-SQL procedures/functions for batch processing and reporting based on user requirements
  5. Create SAS EG and SAS DI jobs
  6. Research and resolve discrepancies in financial data and manage the month-end close process
