This role focuses on Cloud Native products, requiring leadership, communication, technical vision, and strategic thinking.

We select product managers for their intellect and drive to advance the open source community, aiming to improve quality, outreach, and impact. Product managers set vision, identify market opportunities, and drive product delivery.

Juju is an open source orchestration engine for deploying and managing applications at any scale, on any infrastructure, using charms. It is used by clients, partners, and the community for infrastructure and application deployment across various substrates. This role oversees the commercial strategy and marketing for one of our cloud native operations products, including:

• Juju - the orchestration engine
• Identity management - authentication, authorization, and identity governance across Ubuntu One SSO and other products
• Observability - strategy for system health monitoring and tracing

Location: This role is remote, based in the EMEA region.

Responsibilities include:

1. Leading product lifecycle management by reviewing priorities and goals
2. Collaborating with engineering leads on product development
3. Working with cross-functional teams (engineering, design, marketing, sales) to align on priorities and address challenges
4. Conducting market research, analyzing industry trends, and gathering customer feedback
5. Developing and coaching the team
6. Establishing KPIs and reporting on project status
7. Driving continuous improvement and execution excellence
8. Contributing to strategies for high-performing teams
9. Supporting sales efforts through customer feedback and meetings

Qualifications include:

• Experience in product management within open source and cloud native domains
• Managing software operations for large-scale distributed systems
• Knowledge of Kubernetes, Docker, and enterprise security/compliance
• Leadership skills and technical expertise
• Passion for technology and developer marketing
• Excellent communication in English
• Willingness to travel up to 4 times/year

Nice-to-have skills:

• Experience with CNCF projects, identity, or observability systems
• Curiosity and passion for future tech
• Ownership mindset and problem-solving abilities
