Amana Healthcare, brought to you by M42 and Mumtalakat, is pleased to announce the first Amana Healthcare facility in Bahrain, located in Al Jasra will open in late 2025. This world-class hospital will provide long-term care and post-acute rehabilitation services.
Amana Healthcare provides long-term care for adult patients with complex medical needs in an inpatient setting. Multidisciplinary care will be provided though Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Physician and Intensive care unit (ICU) physicians, geriatricians, nurses, therapists, and a patient & family experience team who work collaboratively to enhance the quality of life for those patients. It also offers specialized rehabilitation for individuals who require inpatient rehabilitation following a life-altering event, such as stroke, brain injury, spine injury, joint replacement, or amputation.
Position Summary:
A Critical Care Physician, also known as an Intensivist, is a specialist responsible for the management and care of critically ill patients, typically in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). This role involves high-level decision-making, rapid response to life-threatening situations, and close collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to stabilize and support patients with severe medical conditions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide continuous medical care to patients in the ICU with life-threatening conditions such as sepsis, multi-organ failure, respiratory distress, cardiac arrest, and post-operative complications.
- Lead multidisciplinary rounds and collaborate with other specialists (e.g., surgeons, cardiologists, neurologists) to coordinate patient care.
- Perform and supervise critical care procedures, including intubation, central line insertion, arterial line placement, chest tube insertion, and ventilator management.
- Monitor patient progress, interpret diagnostic results, and adjust treatment plans accordingly.
- Ensure timely communication with patients' families regarding prognosis, treatment options, and goals of care.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and contribute to critical care documentation and audits.
- Support and educate nursing staff, residents, and allied health professionals.
- Participate in rapid response teams and code blue situations.
- Adhere to ICU protocols, infection control standards, and ethical guidelines
Qualifications:
- Medical degree from a recognized institution.
- Postgraduate qualification in Internal Medicine, Anesthesia, Pulmonology, or Emergency Medicine, with fellowship or certification in Critical Care Medicine.
- Valid NHRA license in Bahrain.
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience managing critically ill patients.
- Proficient in the use of ICU technology and interventions.
- Excellent clinical judgment, leadership, and communication skills.
