VAM Systems is currently looking for a Data Engineer for our Bahrain operations with the following skillsets and terms & conditions:

Qualification
  • BE in Computer Science and Engineering
Professional Training
  • SQL Development, SAS EG, SAS DI, Object-oriented Programming (e.g., C#, Java)
Experience Required
  1. Experience in the following tools (3+ years):
  • SAS Management Console
  • SAS DI, SAS Enterprise Guide
  • Base SAS
  • SAS Web Report Studio, SAS Delivery Portal, SAS OLAP Cube Studio, SAS Information Maps, SAS BI
  • SAS Stored Process, SAS Datasets & Library
Experience configuring/installing applications on servers (Windows/Linux/Unix) and basic knowledge of DNS, Ports, Firewalls (3+ years)Experience managing and developing distributed systems and clusters for batch and streaming data (Hadoop/Spark and/or Kafka/Flink)Experience handling semi-structured data sets (e.g., JSON, XML) (3+ years)Experience in C# or Java (3+ years)Experience in banking and finance, financial accounting, and reporting environmentExpertise in writing advanced SQL queries, stored procedures, and functionsExperience with ETL tools like SAS platform tools and Microsoft SQL ServerUnderstanding of financial reporting (Balance Sheet/Profit and Loss) and risk reportingDevelopment within databases such as Microsoft SQL Server and/or Oracle (minimum 3+ years)Responsibilities
  1. Consolidate and analyze financial data (budgets, income statement forecasts, Balance Sheet, Profit and Loss)
  2. Build stored procedures and ETL jobs to reconcile transactions and correct data discrepancies
  3. Contribute to data warehouse design and database management solutions
  4. Develop SQL Server T-SQL procedures/functions for batch processing and reporting
  5. Create SAS EG and SAS DI jobs
  6. Research and resolve data discrepancies, manage month-end closing processes

  • Financial concepts: Balance Sheet, Profit & Loss, Market Risk
