About the role

This role will provide expert knowledge, skills and interventions to influence, challenge and support the achievement of compliance with all relevant requirements of the Financial Control / Actuarial across business process areas ensuring a robust framework that can be relied upon by a wide and senior stakeholder base. Jobs like this involve providing multi-disciplinary actuarial information, advice, and services, particularly with respect to reserving, to support and enable appropriate reserves to be reported in financial statements. The role will require to spend time developing reserving and actuarial/statistical models, conducting detailed actuarial analyses, and contributing to business development, management and change activities. The incumbent will work with other actuarial/ finance colleagues and information suppliers/customers delivering 'fit for purpose' actuarial information, advice, and services. Main stakeholders will include the Central Banks of Bahrain, External Auditors, Liva Group and Liva Bahrain Country management.

Knowledge/ Skills/ Competencies Required

  • Specifying, building, and operating actuarial and statistical models to meet business needs and requirements, ensuring methods and assumptions used are appropriate and consistent with relevant Group/Regional guidelines and reflect material regulatory requirements.
  • Reporting to Liva Group and Insurance regulators on a periodic basis in prescribed formats.
  • Contributing to reserving and business planning and management processes through the provision of accurate and timely information, reports and/or forecasts and appropriate commercial actuarial advice and services.
  • Conducting detailed actuarial analyses as required, including working with complex or partial data, to produce timely, accurate, insightful, and commercially appropriate outputs.
  • Building and maintaining effective working relationships with information suppliers and users/customers to ensure information is 'fit for purpose'.
  • Provide mathematical calculation advice and guidance on the development of new processes and controls to mitigate risks.
  • Develop problem solving, project management, relationship management and analytical skills by supporting the day-to-day departments/finance units' & Actuarial Units.
  • Actuarial exams based on CBB and Finance qualification desired
  • General insurance experience desirable
  • Good communication skills and proactive interaction across all teams
