Principal Technical Service Engineer, Clean Fuels

This role is part of TS&S Clean Fuels in HTME and will serve as a Subject Matter Expert in Resid catalyst and market. The focus is on the Resid Market in the MECA region but will also support other regional offices on technical tasks and enhance the technical competency of TS&S engineers, balancing technical and commercial approaches.

The purpose of this role is to provide guidance and training to TS&S engineers identified by the TS&S manager to perform tasks (both office and onsite) such as technical proposals, performance evaluation reports, troubleshooting activities with high quality for designated region(s) in alignment with the regional TS&S manager's requirements based on business goals. The Supervisor will continue performing regular TS&S tasks for HTME in agreement with the TS&S manager.

Main Tasks

  1. Serve as the Subject Matter Expert in Resid catalysts and market to secure Resid catalyst sales, especially in the MECA region, by preparing technical proposals and providing technical support to customers.
  2. Provide guidance and training to TS&S engineers identified by the TS&S manager to perform tasks (both office and onsite) such as technical proposals, performance evaluation reports, troubleshooting activities, loading, and start-up.
  3. Collaborate with other departments such as catalyst PLM and R&D (if needed) to align technical expertise within the organization and inform the region(s) when applicable.
  4. Support Account Managers (AMs) during technical meetings with customers.
  5. Provide risk assessments for guarantees mentioned in technical proposals to AMs.
  6. Support the TS&S manager with mid- to long-term development tasks for the region.
  7. Participate actively in knowledge sharing initiatives.
  8. Maintain a very good understanding of catalysts, grading, processes, and calculation tools for Resid catalysts.
  9. Have a strong understanding of the Resid catalyst market and operating conditions in the Middle East.
  10. Act with a clear sense of ownership, capable of conducting tasks independently by applying established procedures, standards, and best practices.
  11. Balance risks and make technical decisions independently based on calculations and experience.
  12. Understand and practice Topsoe's safety policies and safety behaviors.
  13. Possess good communication, presentation, teamwork, and interpersonal skills.
