To join our team in Bahrain, we are searching for a: Performance Coach Swimming

Mission

The World Aquatics Training Centre in Bahrain is seeking a Performance Coach for Swimming. Reporting to the Head Coach, they will lead and support daily training for scholarship swimmers, ensuring their development aligns with World Aquatics' high-performance standards. The programme strategy will be reviewed with the World Aquatics Advisor.

Main Responsibilities:

Programme Management & Coaching

• In collaboration with the Bahrain training Centre Head Coach, oversee the day-to-day sports operations of the World Aquatics Development Centre, Bahrain, for swimming.
• Support all activities of the World Aquatics Development Programme.
• Manage and coordinate where appropriate the daily training of the scholarship group based in Bahrain.
• Align training plans and periodisation with the World Aquatics competition schedule.
• Track and report competition results of scholarship swimmers
• Take a lead role in educating all swimmers and coaches on anti-doping practices.
• Manage and collaborate with the coaching team based in Bahrain to ensure a unified approach to athlete development.
• Ensure all identified athletes have an Annual Performance Plan in accordance with World Aquatics Development Team guidelines.
• Participate in evaluation reviews of all athletes.
• Work closely with sports science providers to integrate performance-enhancing methodologies.
• Provide constructive guidance and feedback to help athletes and coaches develop essential skills.
• Provide weekly feedback on swimmer well-being and current training levels.
• Mentor and create individual development plans for selected coaches, as identified by the World Aquatics Development Team.
• Demonstrate a high level of proficiency and expertise in coaching practices.
• Offer clear explanations and demonstrations to support skill acquisition and performance improvement.
• Travel internationally when required to support competition or training objectives.
• Adhere to and implement all policies set by the World Aquatics Development Team.

Administrative Support

• Assist the Scholarship Programme Manager in maintaining athlete records, visa documentation, insurance updates, and other administrative tasks.
• Help with the preparation of reports and updates for internal and external stakeholders.
• Support the management of correspondence, ensuring effective communication with athletes, coaches, and National Federations.
• Manage scheduling of meetings, appointments, and other events related to the scholarship programme
• Provide support for additional administrative or operational tasks as needed, ensuring the programme's daily functions run smoothly.
• Act as a backup for the Bahrain Training Centre Head Coach in their absence, maintaining continuity in the programme's operations.

Qualifications & Experience

• Proven experience as a high-performance swimming coach, preferably at an international level.
• Strong understanding of athlete development principles, periodisation, and training methodologies.
• Experience working with elite-level athletes in a structured development programme.
• Knowledge of anti-doping regulations and commitment to clean sport education.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to mentor and inspire athletes and coaches.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple responsibilities effectively.
• Willingness to travel internationally as required.
• Commitment to World Aquatics policies and values.
• English fluent mandatory, any other language strongly recommended
