Job Purpose

The Cisco Resident Engineer leads day-to-day technical operations at client sites, ensuring the successful implementation and maintenance of Cisco technologies. By leveraging deep technical expertise and leadership skills, the Engineer addresses client needs, resolves technical issues, and contributes to the overall success of projects, ensuring continuous improvement and customer satisfaction.

Accountabilities

1. Lead and oversee technical operations on-site to ensure the smooth implementation, optimization, and performance of Cisco solutions, leading to efficient client service and operational excellence.
2. Diagnose and troubleshoot complex technical issues related to Cisco technologies, providing innovative, scalable solutions that improve system performance and client satisfaction.
3. Design and implement tailored solutions for clients, aligning with their business needs and strategic objectives, ensuring seamless integration and maximum efficiency.
4. Lead, mentor, and provide technical guidance to junior engineers, fostering a collaborative environment to ensure high-performance team dynamics and skill development.
5. Develop and maintain strong client relationships, ensuring clear communication, and offering proactive recommendations for improved system performance, contributing to customer retention.
6. Prepare and deliver detailed technical documentation, including system designs, project reports, and troubleshooting guides, ensuring accuracy and accessibility for both internal teams and clients.
7. Manage and ensure the completion of projects within scope, timeline, and budget, coordinating with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to meet client expectations and business goals.
8. Adapt to changing environments and handle urgent requests or unexpected challenges, ensuring project milestones and deadlines are met under pressure.

Role Requirements

Essential

• Qualifications and Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in IT, Engineering, Telecommunications, or a relevant field.
• Experience: 15+ years of professional experience in IT, public sector services, or telecom, with a focus on Cisco technologies.
• Training: Advanced certifications, including CCIE (must-have), PMP and ITIL Expert (preferred).
• Specialized Knowledge and Skills:
• Deep knowledge and expertise in Software Defined Networks (SDN) and related technologies.
• Proven troubleshooting, system optimization, and solution design skills.
• Strong client management skills, with the ability to build and maintain long-term relationships.
• Expertise in creating comprehensive technical documentation.
• Proficiency in leading and mentoring technical teams.

Preferable

• Experience with project management methodologies (Agile, Scrum)
• Familiarity with additional networking technologies outside Cisco (Juniper, Huawei, etc.)
• Advanced knowledge in telecom and public sector solutions.
