Job Description

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Finance Officer to join our growing team in Bahrain. This role will be crucial in supporting the financial operations of our CBB-approved cryptocurrency exchange, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in all financial activities. The Finance Officer will be responsible for maintaining financial records, processing payments, preparing financial reports, and assisting with regulatory compliance specific to the cryptocurrency industry in Bahrain.

Responsibilities:
  1. Financial Record Keeping:
    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including general ledger entries, accounts payable and receivable, and bank reconciliations.
    • Ensure proper documentation and filing of all financial transactions.
    • Manage and reconcile petty cash.
  2. Payment Processing and Treasury:
    • Process invoices, payments to vendors, and employee expense reimbursements promptly and accurately.
    • Manage bank accounts and execute fund transfers as required.
  3. Financial Reporting:
    • Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with IFRS and CBB regulations.
    • Prepare ad-hoc financial reports as needed by management.
    • Assist with budget preparation and monitoring.
  4. Regulatory Compliance:
    • Hands-on experience with Bahrain tax laws and VAT filing.
    • Support the Head of Finance in ensuring compliance with relevant financial regulations and reporting requirements set by the Central Bank of Bahrain, especially for cryptocurrency exchanges.
    • Assist in preparing regulatory filings and reports.
    • Stay updated on changes in financial regulations and the cryptocurrency landscape in Bahrain.
  5. Audit Support:
    • Assist with internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and information.
    • Help implement audit recommendations and improve internal controls.
  6. General Ledger Management:
    • Ensure the integrity and accuracy of the general ledger.
    • Perform regular reconciliations of key accounts.
  7. Cryptocurrency Tasks (as required):
    • Assist with reconciling cryptocurrency transactions and balances.
    • Support monitoring of cryptocurrency wallets and movements.
    • Develop understanding of the financial aspects of cryptocurrency trading and custody.
  8. Other Responsibilities:
    • Assist with other finance-related tasks and projects as assigned.
    • Collaborate effectively with other departments within the organization.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in a finance role, preferably within financial services or technology sectors.
  • Strong understanding of IFRS accounting principles.
  • Familiarity with Bahraini financial regulations is essential.
  • Experience with accounting software and MS Office Suite (especially Excel).
  • Knowledge of the cryptocurrency market and related financial concepts is a plus.
