Job Summary:

The British University of Bahrain (BUB) is seeking a Lecturer in Law to contribute to its academic excellence through high-quality teaching, research, and engagement. This role involves delivering innovative and student-centered education while fostering knowledge creation and professional development. The successful candidate will play a vital role in enhancing the university's legal studies programs and ensuring students graduate with excellent academic achievements and employability prospects.

Key Responsibilities:

Teaching & Learning

• Develop and deliver engaging course materials across multiple modules.
• Design assessments, provide feedback, and support students' academic progression.
• Supervise student research projects, dissertations, and fieldwork.
• Act as a personal tutor, offering academic and pastoral support.

Research & Scholarly Activity

• Conduct high-quality research and contribute to peer-reviewed publications.
• Secure external research funding and engage in knowledge transfer initiatives.
• Present findings at conferences and participate in academic collaboration.
• Promote research-led teaching and integrate scholarship into curriculum design.

Leadership & Academic Engagement

• Lead and manage module or program activities to enhance student learning.
• Support and mentor junior colleagues in teaching and research development.
• Engage in outreach activities to improve student recruitment and experience.
• Collaborate with external organizations, industry stakeholders, and academic partners.

Qualifications & Experience:

The ideal candidate will demonstrate:

A Law degree from a UK Higher Education Institution.

A postgraduate degree and/or PhD in Law (or equivalent professional experience).

Experience in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching in Higher Education.

Proven research capabilities with contributions to academic publications.

Strong mentoring, interpersonal, and communication skills.

Ability to secure external funding and lead research projects.

Desirable Skills:

Expertise in contemporary legal theories, policies, and practice.

Knowledge of higher education pedagogy and teaching methodologies.

Experience supervising postgraduate and doctoral-level research.

Commitment to academic excellence and student success.
