BIM Architect

This is a full-time on-site role for a BIM Architect located in Bahrain. The BIM Architect will be responsible for creating architectural drawings, building information modeling (BIM), construction drawings, and submittals on a day-to-day basis.

The BIM Architect will be responsible for developing, implementing, and managing BIM processes and workflows throughout the lifecycle of our construction projects. This role is crucial for ensuring efficient project coordination, clash detection, accurate model-based quantity take-offs, and the overall integration of BIM methodologies within a contracting environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong architectural backgroundcombined with robust BIM software proficiency and practical experience on construction sites.

Key Responsibilities:

BIM Implementation & Management:

·Develop, implement, and enforce BIM standards, protocols, and execution plans for projects in alignment with company and industry best practices.

·Manage and maintain project BIM models, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and adherence to standards.

·Oversee the BIM workflow and data management processes.

·Integrate BIM with other construction technologies and processes (e.g., scheduling, cost estimation).

·Create, modify, and manage architectural BIM models using relevant Autodesk Revit (And AEC Collection).

·Lead and facilitate interdisciplinary model coordination, conducting regular clash detection and interference checking using software like Navisworks.

·Collaborate with internal teams (project managers, site engineers, quantity surveyors) and external stakeholders (consultants, subcontractors) to resolve clashes and design issues.

·Ensure models are suitable for construction planning, sequencing, and visualization (4D/5D BIM where applicable).

·Generate accurate construction documentation, shop drawings, and schedules directly from BIM models.

·Assist in the preparation of model-based quantity take-offs and cost estimations.

·Prepare and present BIM-related reports, visualizations, and presentations to project teams and clients.

·Manage the information exchange process with all project stakeholders, ensuring timely and accurate data transfer.

·Support the development of as-built BIM models for project handover.

·Provide technical expertise and management support on BIM processes for project teams and non-BIM personnel.

Site & Construction Focus:

·Work closely with site teams to ensure BIM models accurately reflect site conditions and assist in resolving site-based queries using BIM data.

·Support the use of BIM for site layout, logistics planning, and progress monitoring.

·Facilitate the integration of subcontractor and vendor models into the federated project model.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture, Architectural Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5+ years of professional experience in an architectural role with a significant focus on BIM.
• Proven experience working within a contracting company or on construction projects is highly desirable.
• In-depth proficiency in BIM software such as Autodesk Revit, Navisworks Manage, AutoCAD, and potentially others like BIM 360/Autodesk Construction Cloud, Solibri, etc.
• Strong understanding of architectural design principles, construction processes, and building codes.
• Demonstrable experience in BIM coordination, clash detection, and model management.
• Familiarity with BIM standards (e.g., ISO 19650) and best practices.
• Excellent technical skills in BIM modeling and management.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
• Effective communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, project-driven environment.
• Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and quality.

• Understanding of data exchange formats (e.g., IFC, DWG, RVT).

Preferred Attributes:

• Experience with 4D (scheduling) and 5D (cost) BIM.
• Knowledge of parametric modeling and content creation.
• Professional certification in BIM (e.g., RICS BIM Certification, Autodesk Certified Professional).
