Provides effective leadership, support, and guidance to the business units as they develop a world-class safety culture of continuous improvement. Establishes methods that ensure alignment with company safety expectations. Provides strategic leadership regarding safety across all assigned business units. Partners closely with all levels of leadership to create, maintain, and improve H&P safety environment. Assists, plans, and implements safety policies and procedures in compliance with local, state, and federal rules and regulations including, but not limited to, Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ). Works with customers to address HSE related concerns. Coordinates and manages emergency response efforts in the event of injuries or environmental events. Serves as SME and company representative for litigation. Provides guidance and support to Human Resources in Worker's Compensation cases. Hires, trains, develops, and appraises staff effectively. Takes corrective action as necessary on a timely basis and in accordance with company policy. Consults with human resources as appropriate. Demonstrates the H&P Company values: Actively C. A. R. Ability to manage, develop, coach, and mentor complex teams. Promotes a culture of collaboration and teamwork across multiple business units and functions. Experienced in deploying HSE initiatives. Functional experience with Drilling Operations. Proficient in LEAN and Continuous Improvement principles. Successfully managed safety teams. Demonstrated strategic perspective with ability to implement with results. Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills. Microsoft Office, Power Point, Word, and Excel proficiency. Project management, root cause analysis, and problem-solving ability. Innovative and enthusiastic about environment, health, and safety solutions that enhance safety performance, reduce costs, and strive for sustainability.
