This world-class hospital will provide long-term care and post-acute rehabilitation services. Amana Healthcare provides long-term care for adult patients with complex medical needs in an inpatient setting. Multidisciplinary care will be provided though intensive care unit (ICU) physicians, geriatricians, nurses, therapists, and a patient & family experience team who work collaboratively to enhance the quality of life for those patients. It also offers specialized rehabilitation for individuals who require inpatient rehabilitation following a life-altering event, such as stroke, brain injury, spine injury, joint replacement, or amputation. Job Overview Reporting to the Department Head/ Medical Director/ Director, Clinical Operations, the General Practitioner is responsible for delivering high-quality evidence-based care; effectively and efficiently diagnosing, managing and treating all patients placed under the post holder's care within the scope of granted clinical privileges. The General Practitioner is expected to be an example of clinical excellence within their specialty. Responsibilities Performs the professional duties of a General Practitioner in accordance with the delineation of privileges granted by the Credentialing and Privileging Committee. Practices within the scope of practice and granted clinical privileges Willingness to travel within Bahrain for patient assessment/care for Amana services. Respond to patients' medical/health problems by referring to their history and carrying out diagnosis, investigation, treatment and referral as appropriate Discuss side-effects, best conditions for use, and possible interactions of medication Complies with all established organizational and asset policies regarding admissions, consultations, daily patient care, surgical procedures, discharge protocols, outpatient, and follow-up practices. Accurately documents all relevant clinical information in a clear and timely fashion in accordance with established procedures. Ensures preparation of patients for all procedures including obtaining informed consent. Participates in and ensures the provision of out-of-hours (on call) coverage on a rotational basis, including evenings, nights, weekends, and public holidays as required. Communicates clinical information to patients and the patient's family (with consent of the patient) in a timely manner. Qualifications MBBS or MBCh B or equivalent At least 2 years of experience post qualification Must hold a valid License/Registration to practice in Bahrain At least 2 years of ICU, critical care or anesthesia experience will be preferred
