**Duties**:
- You will perform industrial hygiene inspections, surveys and evaluations.
- You will provide detailed written reports of survey findings including hazards identified, assessment of the hazards, exposure monitoring required and controls recommended.
- You will prepare workplace monitoring plans and track their completion.
- You will evaluate the results of sampling to statistically determine if occupational exposures are in excess of published health standards.
- You will provide consultation and advice to activities on occupational health problems and concerns.
- You will conduct and document Similar Exposure Groups (SEG) exposure assessments in the DOEHRS database.

- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
- A favorable Tier 3 background investigation is required for all Non-Critical Sensitive (NCS) positions with access to network systems and Personally Identifiable Information (PII).
- In accordance with BUMEDINST 6220.9B, all personnel, must receive and maintain appropriate vaccination against seasonal influenza.
- The incumbent must, as a condition of employment, be immunized on an annual basis against influenza. Refer to local command influenza instruction.
- Certification in comprehensive practice by the American Board of Industrial Hygiene (ABIH) is highly desired.

In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.
Specialized experience may include:
1. Conducting industrial hygiene inspections, surveys, evaluations for identifying hazards and ensuring compliance with health standards;
2. Evaluates and manages exposure monitoring plans, prepares/updates workplace monitoring plans, maintains equipment, reviews sampling results for compliance with health standards;
3. Recommends engineering controls, medical surveillance for employees exposed to hazardous materials, noise, and physical hazards, and collaborates with personnel to devise control measures;
4. Providing occupational health consultations, reviews facility plans for appropriate engineering controls, advises on respiratory protection, chemical handling for ensuring safety;
5. Providing technical guidance to staff, investigates worker health problems, conducts environmental quality surveys, and recommends corrective actions for occupational exposures.
