General Technician

General Technician (Level 5) Overview of duties
- Under general supervision, does maintenance and repair work on all mechanical equipments including laundry & kitchen equipments of the hotel. Main responsibilities Customer relations
- Should be aware of the products and promotions that the hotel offers
- Should be conversant and courteous in dealing with guests inquiries
- Should project at all times a positive and motivated attitude and exercise self control Professional techniques / Production
- To maintain all kitchen and laundry equipments in good working condition.
- Able to read the blueprint and sketches.
- Ensure the highest level of all equipment and Hotel
- Assist the Chief Engineering to control the cost and expenses.
- Keep a close vigil of all areas of the Hotel to maintain well organized and efficient work areas, in full working condition for the comfort, safety and pleasure of all guests and staff.
- Maintain safety and security of the Hotel in general, especially in matters related to guests and customers areas.
- Assist the building of an efficient team of employees by taking an active interest in their welfare, safety and development.
- Accountable for materials used and ordering of items needed for the job completion or inventory replacement per hotel procedure.
- To ensure the highest level of all equipment and everything is in order.
- Participates in Hotel Energy conservation Programs
- Should be able to work from blueprints and sketches.
- Ensure that all tools in the maintenance cart are kept clean and in good condition.
- Carry out any instructions as indicated by the Engineering Supervisor or the Director of Maintenance & Security.
- If judged to be capable of carrying out a different job title/requirement, must be willing to accept new job challenges and position.
- Familiarize himself with the total building layout.
- Able to read, understand and comply with all current company policies.
- Keeps a close vigil of all areas of the Hotel to maintain clean, well organized and efficient work areas, in full working condition for the comfort, safety and pleasure of all guests and staff.
- Responsible for the tight control and issue of equipment.
- Ensures that all Engineering equipment is well-maintained and accounted for and that staff concerned are trained in usage, handling and care.
- Strikes a positive and effective balance between Hotel wants and needs for the benefit of customer satisfaction and profitability of the Hotel in the long running.
- Maintains safety and security of the Hotel in general, especially in matters related to guests and customers.
- Assists to monitor the security in and around the Hotel at all times ensuring the safety of guests and staff alike.
- Assists in the building of an efficient team of employees by taking an active interest in their welfare, safety and development.
- To be fully aware and conversant of Accor spirit, values and goals and is responsible to integrate them in the day to day operation.
- To be fully aware and conversant of Accor environmental charter and is responsible to integrate them in the day to day operation.
- To be fully aware of policies and procedures and is responsible to integrate them in the day to day operation.
- To have complete understanding of the Operations Manual and Policies & Procedures Commercial / Sales

- To attend and contribute to department meetings and in house trainings as scheduled.

- To respond to any changes in the Engineering function as dictated by the hotel. Hygiene / Personal safety / Environment
- Understand and strictly adhere to the rules and regulations established in the Employees Handbook and policies in regards to Fire, Hygiene, Health and Safety.
- Dispose hazardous, chemical and combustible items properly.
- Ensure a cap is fixed on the fire detectors during the job in order to avoid false fire alarms and takes the cover off once the job is completed.

- Keep the work area and workshop clean, neat and safe always in order to avoid fire related incidents.
- Maintain a good rapport and working relationship and report for duty punctually wearing the proper uniform and name tag appropriately Reporting line Direct report to the Engineering and Senior Engineering Supervisor Profile Education / Professional experience
- High school or vocational certificate and eager to work in the sector regardless of their educational background, pending validation of their skills and motivation
- Fluent in the national language, and Business English Skills / Qualities - Good interpersonal skills and self-confident
- Guest oriented and service minded, with attention to quality
