**Duties and Responsibilities include, but not limited to**:

- To provide clinical direction and assistance to all staff assigned to their clinical area.To provide recommendation to the Clinical Manager for capital and operating budgets for their clinical area.
- To co-ordinate the accurate inventory of all equipment allocated to the clinical area and ensuring regular maintenance checks of all equipment.
- To participate in Nursing and Interdepartmental Committees and Task Forces appointed by the Director of Nursing.
- To attend monthly meetings within the unit and with other members of the multi-disciplinary team, as part of an ongoing quality improvement tool.
- To co-ordinate admission, transfer and discharge of patients from their clinical area.
- To recognize and anticipate in problems and take appropriate actions based upon clinical judgment in resolving these problems.
- To co-ordinate with a working schedule that provides 24-hours patients care.
- To assign and re-assign nurses based on patient activity and occupancy, staff availability and nursing skills.
- To assure appropriate documentation of the patients care and nursing 4.11 activities in their clinical area.
- To maintain all statistics identified on their specialty and/or required by the Nursing Office.
- To assist the Clinical Manager/Shift Supervisor in providing a timely flow of information to ensure effective communication with staff regarding updates on standards of care, operational protocol, policies and procedures.
- To co-ordinate the preceptor program in the unit and to monitor and evaluate the progress of the staff during the orientation period.
- To respond to patients, family and staff concerns, consulting with Clinical Manager and shift Supervisor, as needed.
- To assist in implementation and evaluation of a Nursing Safety and Risk Management Programmes.
- To foster a productive and positive working environment and assist in the development, implementation and evaluation of a competency-based Nursing Education and Orientation Programmes.
- To keep the Clinical Manager and Shift Supervisor informed in a timely manner as to the significant changes in the patient's needs and other nursing related issues.
- To perform any other tasks and duties appropriate to his/her realm of knowledge, skill, capability and experience as required by the Director of Nursing.
- Review and revise policies, procedures and standard operating procedures on a periodic basis in close coordination with the Quality Improvement Department.
- Monitor effectively the implementation of approved hospital/department wide policies, procedures and guidelines.
- Advise, Lead and participate actively in hospital/ department quality improvement activities.

**Education and Qualification**:

- A graduate of an accredited school of Nursing.
- A Bachelor of Science Diploma in General Nursing for a period of not less than three years.
- Registered as a Professional Nurse and maintain a license in good standing in own country.
- Eligible for license in kingdom of Bahrain.

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Manama: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (preferred)
