- To ensure the school’s library provides a welcoming, inclusive learning environment, actively supporting teaching and learning within the school.
- To develop excitement and enjoyment of reading books
- To develop and implement the school’s Library Policy upon approval of the principal and management
- Identifying and buying quality resources for the school library
- Work with teaching staff to take a strategic approach to cultivating a love of reading in children
- Organize, catalogue and classify library resources
- Make the library attractive and accessible to all children and staff
- Research new books and materials by reading book reviews, publishers’ announcements, and catalogue
- Maintain existing collections and choose new books, videos, and other materials for purchase
