**Duties**:

- Serves as the Information Management Officer (IMO) and Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) with responsibility for coordinating and administering the Battalion’s Information Technology (IT) requirements.
- Responsible for network configuration and communications circuits that allow battlefield commanders to effectively plan and execute joint military operations.
- Performs touch labor support for the transportation battalion and coordinates with supporting NEC to elevate trouble tickets for resolution, conveying the appropriate priorities.
- Serves as the Primary Communications Security (COMSEC) Hand Receipt Holder.
- Serves as the focal point for the maintenance and management for all COMSEC material and equipment and all communications security matters.
- Ensures the availability and security of appropriate types and quantities of controlled cryptographic items (CCI), materials and encryption devices.
- Performs controlled cryptographic items (CCI) support duties within the S6 including systems installations, configurations, and troubleshooting for encryption devices.
- Serves as the primary VTC Operator, actively managing VTC capability (both Unclassified and Classified network) by scheduling, advertising, coordinating, and performing administration, maintenance, repair, training, and upgrade functions.
- Maintains baseline network certifications and training to include common criteria certification for all security and security-enabled products, and cryptographic validation for products containing encryption functionality.

- One year trial/probationary period may be required.
- Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration.

- This position requires a valid, state-issued, and must be insurable in order to travel to other locations in the Command’s structure.
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Top Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
- The position requires the incumbent to perform up to 15% of TDY.
- This position requires the incumbent to possess, secure an IA Technical Level 2 certification within 6 months from date of employment/hire.
- The incumbent must be willing to refrain from the use of illegal drugs and submit to a pre-employment drug screening and random testing thereafter to obtain and maintain employment in this position.
- This position is designated as an Emergency Essential (E-E) position in support of mobilization and wartime mission requirements and requires the incumbent to remain in the overseas area and perform duties until relieved by the proper authority.
- This position may require employees to work overtime on a regular basis to accommodate peak workflow or respond to emergency situations, often under severe time constraints.

- Specialized and Other Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) Providing complex IT support including the installation, configuration, troubleshooting, and customer assistance; 2) Performing studies of equipment requirements and database/store design for alternate approaches; AND 3) Analyzing hardware and software requests by evaluating product specifications, user objectives, training, maintenance requirements, and resource constraints.
- This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09).The specialized experience must include, or be supplemented by, information technology related experience (paid or unpaid experience and/or completion of specific, intensive training, as appropriate) which demonstrates each of the four competencies, as defined:
