Civil Foreman

**Job Overview**

The Civil Foreman is responsible for supervising and coordinating on-site construction activities to ensure they are executed efficiently, safely, and in line with project plans and specifications. The role involves managing a team of workers, liaising with supervisors and engineers, and ensuring that all tasks meet quality and safety standards while adhering to project deadlines and budgets.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- **Supervision and Workforce Management**:

- Lead, supervise, and coordinate a team of construction workers and subcontractors to complete daily tasks.
- Assign tasks and ensure workers understand project goals and requirements.
- Monitor attendance, productivity, and performance of the workforce.
- **Construction Oversight**:

- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and project specifications to guide construction activities.
- Ensure that construction work complies with design plans, quality standards, and regulations.
- Oversee the use of tools, machinery, and equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety.
- **Quality Control**:

- Conduct regular inspections of work to ensure accuracy and adherence to project specifications.
- Identify and address defects or issues promptly to maintain quality standards.
- **Health and Safety Enforcement**:

- Ensure all workers comply with health and safety regulations and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Conduct regular safety checks on the site and take corrective measures to mitigate risks.
- Promote a safe working environment by conducting toolbox talks and safety briefings.
- **Coordination and Communication**:

- Collaborate with Civil Supervisors, Engineers, and Project Managers to ensure smooth project execution.
- Provide regular updates on project progress, resource needs, and challenges to supervisors.
- Communicate effectively with workers to provide instructions, feedback, and support.
- **Resource Management**:

- Ensure the timely availability of materials, tools, and equipment required for construction activities.
- Minimize waste by managing resources efficiently and monitoring material usage.
- Plan daily activities to maximize productivity and minimize downtime.
- **Problem Solving**:

- Address and resolve on-site issues, such as technical challenges or worker disputes, in a timely manner.
- Proactively identify potential delays or disruptions and implement solutions to keep the project on track.
- **Documentation and Reporting**:

- Maintain accurate records of daily site activities, including work completed, workforce attendance, and material usage.
- Submit daily or weekly progress reports to supervisors or project managers.

**Qualifications**:

- High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical training or certification in construction or civil works is a plus.
- Proven experience as a Civil Foreman or in a similar supervisory role in civil construction projects.
- Strong knowledge of construction processes, materials, tools, and equipment.
- Familiarity with blueprints, construction drawings, and specifications.
