**What You’ll Be Doing**
- The Materials Inspector under general supervision, performs difficult and sometimes complex inspection tasks.
- Inspects various facets of work on the construction site and performs continuous surveillance of assigned construction activities to ensure compliance with all applicable codes, standards, and specifications.
- Documents nonconformance and may participate in determining appropriate resolution.
- Have full awareness of testing requirements.
- Check material submissions and properly process approvals.
- Visit factories to ensure proper manufacture and testing of materials produced.
- Ensure materials delivered are as approved and are properly stored.
- Assist in the development of testing procedures.
- Keep up-to-date with new appropriate materials.

**What Required Skills You’ll Bring**
- Diploma in Civil Engineering with minimum 7 years relevant experience in laboratory materials testing including field inspection of samples and materials. Familiarity with all asphalt concrete and soil materials used in highway and bridge construction.
- Familiarity with all asphalt concrete and soil materials used in highway and bridge construction.
- Computer literacy and excellent communication skills are essential.
- Must be able to read and interpret blueprints and construction specifications and be thoroughly familiar with construction-related processes related to area of assignment.

- Must possess the ability to read working drawings and related specifications.
