**Duties**:
- You will advise others on protocol, etiquette, and social matters relating to national and international rules, procedures, and tradition.
- You will arrange a site location for an event.
- You will authorize expenditures within the front office operating budget.
- You will coordinate or plan events with international guests in compliance with military and international protocols.
- You will review protocol activities initiatives for responsiveness to command requirements.
- You will coordinate activities of staff offices in accordance with policies.

**Conditions of Employment**:
- Must be a US Citizen and able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Passport.
- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
- Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.
- Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
- This position may require travel to places within and outside the contiguous United States which could include remote or isolated sites. You may be required to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- If eligible for permanent change of station, the appointee will be required to sign a transportation agreement to establish a Government time in service requirement of 12 months.
- May be required to obtain a VISA dependent on the overseas country's laws/regulations.
- You will be required to sign the Statement of Understanding for Overseas Employment acknowledging receipt and understanding of the statement of living and working conditions for this location.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final TOP SECRET security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- This position is considered Key/Emergency-Essential. You will be required to provide immediate and continuing support to ensure the success of combat operations or the availability of combat-essential systems.
- This position is eligible for part time, substantial or ad-hoc telework at the discretion of management.
- The work is sedentary and places no special physical demands on the employee. The work includes?walking, standing, bending and carrying of light items such as papers and books.
- The work is performed in pressure sensitive atmosphere, in a Flag Officer?s office setting.
**Qualifications**:
- Your resume must demonstrate qualifying experience demonstrating the following: 1) Providing advice and assistance in the planning, organizing and execution of very significant and diverse social and protocol events; 2) Utilizing knowledge of protocol, intricacies of etiquette and courtesies afforded to visiting civilian, military, and foreign dignitaries to manage a social and protocol program; 3) Overseeing national and international rules, procedures, traditions, formal diplomatic customs, courtesies and etiquette appropriate to protocol for foreign nationals, distinguished visitors and U.S. foreign dignitaries; and 4) Maintaining effective cooperative work relations with representatives of military, civilian and foreign organizations to obtain cooperation in protocol functions.

Additional Information (Continued):
Military spouses and family members who are appointed may not extend longer than 2 months following the transfer of the sponsor from the commuting area of the foreign duty station; 2 months beyond the separation of the appointee's sponsor; or any time beyond the time employee ceases to be a family member.
The Office of the Secretary of Defense (Personnel and Readiness) limits the number of Bahrain based DoD personnel accompanied tours. Dependent entry approval from Commander, U.S. Naval Forces Central Command is required for all accompanied tours prior to extending the final job offer and prior to issuing Permanent Change of Station (PCS) orders. Accompanied tours are not guaranteed.
The current workweek is Sunday through Thursday. Employees hired from continental U.S. will receive Sunday Premium Pay (computed at 25% of basic hourly rate, eight hours per week).
Relocation and recruitment incentives up to 25% may be authorized.
