**Position Summary**
The Procurement Specialist is responsible for ensuring the company has the right materials and equipment necessary to function. It will involve meeting with salespersons and negotiating contracts. He is responsible for evaluating suppliers in order to find the best deals possible on goods that are needed for successful business operations. The goal is to increase efficiency, profitability and customer satisfaction. Will ensure that production procedures will be carried on smoothly to maximize efficiency and profits overall.
**Duties & Responsibilities**
- Compares prices amongst various vendors in order to make sound purchasing decisions.
- Works within a given budget to purchase goods and services for an organization.
- Ensures that products are delivered in a timely manner, and that the quality of the goods received is satisfactory.
- Negotiates with contractors on price, mode of shipping, and delivery time.
- Orders goods such as office supplies on a continuing basis in order to maintain certain inventory levels, based on ERP input and purchase orders.
- Checks invoices for accuracy and authorizes the accounts payable department to issue payment.
- Evaluates the performance of certain vendors in order to decide whether or not to continue buying from them.
- Inventories items in order to determine which ones need to be purchased
- Enters data concerning inventory and order amounts into ERP.
- Teach & Train new team members in the correct and efficient operation of the process.
- Any other reasonable assignment may be request or assign by your Direct Manager.
- Develop, lead and execute purchasing strategies.
- Track and report key functional metrics to reduce expenses and improve effectiveness.
- Craft negotiation strategies and close deals with optimal terms.
- Partner with stakeholders to ensure clear requirements documentation.
- Forecast price and market trends to identify changes of balance in buyer-supplier power.
- Perform cost and scenario analysis, and benchmarking.
- Determine quantity and timing of deliveries.
- Monitor and forecast upcoming levels of demand.
- Seek and partner with reliable vendors and suppliers.
**Qualifications**
- Minimum 5 years of experience in the procurement field, and international experience.
- CIPS Certified.
- Proven working experience as a procurement officer.
- Possesses strong negotiation skill.
- Has good verbal communications skills.
- Is timely in following up on contracts and checking on backordered item.
- Is capable of staying within a given budget.
- Has good math skills and is quickly able to calculate the cost of goods and services.
- Is trustworthy and does not abuse authority or misappropriate funds.
- Understanding of production procedures.
- Analytical skills.
- Attention to detail.
- Teamwork and communication skills.
- B.A, B.Sc in Economics or equivalent degree.
Ability to commute/relocate:
- Hidd: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (required)
**Education**:
- Bachelor's (required)
**Experience**:
- Procurement: 5 years (required)
**Language**:
- English and Arabic (preferred)
