**Main Objectives**

Directs the activities of a group of mechanics and carries out a variety of duties related to the inspection and servicing of aircraft on the ramp. Carries out a visual inspection of the aircraft according to procedures established for each type of aircraft, and effects servicing and routine minor repairs. Certifies aircraft for airworthiness within his certification qualifications, and updates such qualifications as required.

**Main Duties**
- Directs the activities of a team of 2/3 Senior Mechanics/Assistant Mechanics engaged in the servicing of aircraft on assigned shift. Aircraft should be in transit, turnaround or overnight.
- Reviews aircraft and cabin logbooks, and carries out checks on various items on the aircraft. Includes walk around check of the exterior of the aircraft as well as engine, landing gear and hydraulic items, cabin, fuselage exterior and wing checks.
- Effects minor/routine repairs/servicing to aircraft. Includes brake, tyres and wheel changes, lightings, topping of oil, lubricants and fluids. Signs check list or log book after completion of assignment.
- Carries out inspections and authorizations in accordance with standards and procedures established by the issuing carrier.
- Maintains safekeeping of personal tools as well as specialized tools and equipment in mobile workshop or on charge from the carrier.
- Keeps abreast of changing carrier procedures as well as IATA procedures by reading technical publications and ensures that personal qualifications are current and valid by taking the required periodic tests and examinations.
- Carries out other similar or related duties such as observing safety regulations at all times and fueling aircraft under supervision, positioning ground equipment and performing push-back and towing operations, as required.
- Comply with the Company and Airport authorities’ health, safety, and security regulations.
- Ensure his/her company authorization remains valid.

**Minimum Requirements**

**Education**:
Completion of Secondary (12 years) technical education and should be licensed from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) or EASA 66 or equivalent to 2 years.

**Experience**:
5 years’ experience in the servicing and maintenance of aircraft.

**Training**:
A minimum of one aircraft Transit Training or workshop collaboration approval.

**Other Essential Requirements**:

- Very good knowledge of written and spoken English.
- Valid light vehicle driving license.
