**Job Summary**:
The Quantity Surveyor (QS) will play a crucial role in managing the financial aspects of construction projects, particularly those related to recreational facilities and infrastructure development. This includes estimating costs, preparing budgets, and ensuring that projects are completed on time and within budget. The QS will also provide advice on procurement strategies, contract management, and cost control, while collaborating closely with the construction team, clients, and subcontractors to ensure projects meet the required quality and safety standards.

**Key Responsibilities**:
1. **Cost Estimation & Budgeting**:

- Prepare accurate cost estimates for new construction and renovation projects related to recreational facilities (e.g., sports arenas, water parks, resorts, adventure parks).
- Develop detailed project budgets, including all aspects of construction, materials, labor, and contingencies.
- Review project specifications and drawings to assess and quantify the required materials, labor, and equipment costs.

2. **Contract Management**:

- Prepare, review, and manage contracts with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers, ensuring all terms and conditions are met.
- Assess and manage variations and claims, including providing cost analysis for any changes to the original scope of work.
- Ensure the timely procurement of materials, services, and labor required for the projects.

3. **Value Engineering**:

- Advise on cost-effective solutions during the design and planning stages to enhance project value while maintaining the integrity of the recreational concept.
- Recommend alternative materials and methods of construction to reduce costs without compromising quality or safety.

4. **Procurement**:

- Source and evaluate subcontractors and suppliers to ensure the best value for money in terms of cost, quality, and service.
- Assist in the preparation of tender documents, bid evaluations, and selection of contractors.

5. **Risk Management**:

- Identify potential financial risks related to the project and advise on mitigation strategies.
- Maintain an awareness of industry trends and market conditions that could impact project costs.

6. **Collaboration & Communication**:

- Work closely with project managers, architects, engineers, and contractors to ensure smooth project delivery.
- Communicate regularly with clients and stakeholders to update them on the financial status of the project and address any concerns related to cost or schedule.

**Qualifications**:

- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (Quantity Surveying), or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience as a Quantity Surveyor, ideally with experience in both construction and recreational facility projects.
- Strong understanding of cost management principles, construction techniques, and financial forecasting.
- Experience with cost estimation and management software (e.g., Microsoft Excel, word, PowerPoint)
- Knowledge of construction contracts, procurement procedures, and legal frameworks.

**Skills**:

- Excellent numerical and analytical skills with attention to detail.
- Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
- Effective communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Knowledge of construction and recreational industry standards and regulations.
- Problem-solving and decision-making skills in cost management and risk assessment.

**Education**:

- Bachelor's (preferred)

Willingness to travel:

- 50% (preferred)
