The Role
- Confirm Major Project lifting and rigging standards comply with all local legal and company requirements;
- Assess the quality and competency of the Plant Department, and Major Subcontractor lifting equipment and mobile plant operators;
- Confirm the Plant Department lifting and rigging programmes meet with relevant local and/ or international Standards to ensure maximum safety wherever possible;
- Confirm acceptable third-party certification of lifting and mobile plant operators;
- Conduct ongoing competency monitoring of the Plant Department lifting and mobile plant personnel;
- Support the department to manage crane, lifting and mobile plant inspections and audits;
- Attend, review and monitor the Plant Department and Major Subcontractor pre-task talks, tool box talks, method statements, Lifting Plan, JSAs and risk assessment briefings;
- Ensure all lifting and mobile plant equipment / materiel is appropriately certified and colour-code standards maintained across the business;
- Review for acceptability major Subcontractor proposed transportation and lifting activities;
- Capture and report any safety concerns at the daily / weekly/ monthly safety meetings;
- Intervene to address any immediate safety issues;
- Review daily work activities within the Plant department and carry out surveillance on implementation of all HSSE management system requirements;
- Provide coaching and mentoring to the personnel in the HSSE Department to help foster specialist knowledge regarding lifting and plant safety;
- Provide briefings to Operational personnel on lifting and rigging issues;
- Provide expertise in daily handling & lifting activities including the categorization of lifts;
- Support operational teams with Risk assessment and hazard identification;
- Assist Operational teams with technical review of lifting operations;
- Support Operational teams with selection of equipment for lifting operations;
- Review and approve lift plans and engineering calculation for complex lifts;
- Supervise and physically attend complicated lifts;
- Perform condition check and fitness for purpose on all major lifting appliances for internal Divisions and Major Subcontractors;
- To be Involved in external and internal audits of the lifting operations, participates in lifting operations incident investigation and analyses - Direct Line Manager is Plant General Manager - Functional Line Manager is Corporate HSSE Manager Direct Reports - Plant Department HSSE team members - Plant Department Lifting equipment and Plant Operators - Corporation Divisions HSSE and Mobile Plant teams (as required)

**Requirements**:
Requirements - Mechanical Engineering Degree - Diploma in Lifting Operations - NEBOSH - Based in the Gulf with experience of working for a Tier 1 Main contractor - 10 years+ Lifting and Rigging experience - Specialised third-party inspections for lifting equipment and mobile plant - Specialised third-party training and certification for lifting, rigging, mobile plant operators - Specialised experience with complex lift - Extensive operational knowledge of all lifting equipment and mobile plant - BHD 2,000 per month + private medical + flight ticket to country of origin annually.
