Seeking a Hyperbaric Technician for a VIP Client based in Bahrain.
**Principal Duties**
The principal duty of the hyperbaric technician is to monitor and control the pressure inside a hyperbaric chamber, a steel cylinder.
**Qualifications required**:
- Recording relevant information such as patient name, birthdate, diagnosis medication status, and allergies;
- Monitors patient reactions to treatment and provides nursing care as needed;
- Organizing medical records according to medical protocols;
- Recording data from monitors such as blood pressure, pulse rate, and oxygen levels;
- Preparing patients for treatment, including shaving and cleaning the treatment site;
- Monitoring activities in the treatment room such as adjusting pressure settings or supplying oxygen;
- Calculating time under pressure in accordance with established protocols;
- Operating equipment such as monitoring instruments, adjusting environmental conditions, and recording data;
- Ensuring patient safety by monitoring the integrity of equipment used in hyperbaric treatments.
**Secondary Duties**:
When the chamber is not occupied by a patient, the hyperbaric technician's principal concern is the cleanliness and maintenance of the chamber’s oxygen system. Contamination in the oxygen supply system can introduce toxins into a patient's lungs and result in oxygen toxicity and central nervous system damage. The technician also maintains patient records, records of chamber use - including time and pressure information for each patient - and chamber maintenance records.
**Hyperbaric Technician Skills**:
**Medical knowledge**: Medical knowledge is the ability to understand the human body and how it functions. This is an important skill for hyperbaric technicians because it allows them to understand the conditions that hyperbaric treatment can treat. Medical knowledge also allows them to understand the results of treatment and the effects of any side effects.
**Technical skills**: Technical skills are the abilities to use tools and equipment to complete a task. Hyperbaric technicians use technical skills to operate and maintain the equipment used in hyperbaric treatment. This includes knowing how to operate and maintain the hyperbaric chambers, oxygen tanks and other equipment used in the treatment.
**Communication**:Communication is the act of conveying information through speech, writing or other methods. As a hyperbaric technician, you may need to communicate with patients, other medical staff and patients’ family members. You can also use communication skills to explain the treatment process and answer questions about the treatment.
**Attention to detail**: The work of hyperbaric technicians requires them to be precise and thorough. They need to follow protocols precisely to ensure the safety of patients and themselves. They also need to be thorough when recording patient information and treatment data.
**Teamwork**:Working in a team can help hyperbaric technician’s complete tasks more efficiently. They may work with other technicians, medical professionals and patients to ensure the safety of patients and the accuracy of treatment. When working with patients, they can explain treatment plans and answer questions to help patients feel more comfortable.
Technicians must be able to lift and move patients.
**Experience**:
Minimum of 5 years of experience.
