Position: Radiology Aide
The Radiology Aide will operate as a member of the Radiography team assisting the Radiographers as directed. Full training and orientation to the department and the scope of the post will be given.
Key
**Responsibilities**:
- Escorting patients to and from x-ray rooms.
- Ensuring patient transfers are made in a timely fashion from wards and other departments as directed by the radiographers.
- Assist patients into gowns and any other patient needs as directed by Radiographers.
- Transfer non ambulant patients on trolleys and wheelchairs to and from ED to Radiology to ensure that the service is delivered in a timely manner.
- Responsible for co-ordinating and liaising with Portering services staff, ward staff and Radiographers regarding x-ray scheduling for in-patients.
- Assist Radiographers with manual handling.
- Ensure prep is delivered to ward or administered to patient as required/appropriate i.e. ensuring full bladder prior to ultrasound pelvic scans, delivery of oral prep to wards.
- All aspects of general housekeeping in the area of work.
- Registration of requests (as and when required) onto the RiS (Radiology Information System).
- Assist with lifting, moving patients and moving trolleys/beds.
- The post holder is accountable, responsible and has authority for delivering a quality service and ensuring patient safety.
- The post holder will work within a Risk Management Framework to achieve the Healthcare Standards and other quality standards as appropriate.
Special Requirements:
- Should have a Higher secondary school certificate.
- Awareness and compliance with Health and Safety Regulations and Hospital policies and procedures.
- Flexibility and willingness to work in a team and meet the needs of the service

**Experience**:
- Radilologic Aide: 2 years (preferred)
