Mechanical Technician

Responsibilities:
- Perform the replacement of heat elements and baskets in Gas-Gas Heaters (GGHs), ensuring work is done accurately and efficiently.
- Conduct removal, reinstallation, overhaul, and calibration of mechanical equipment, including valves, FD (Forced Draft) fans, and turbines, adhering to safety and quality standards.
- Be responsible for the removal and installation of various mechanical parts as required in power plant operations, ensuring mínimal downtime and maximized efficiency.
- Execute routine maintenance and inspections of mechanical systems to identify potential issues and prevent unplanned outages or malfunctions.
- Work closely with maintenance teams to coordinate maintenance schedules and ensure all mechanical components operate at optimal levels.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines when performing maintenance activities, ensuring a safe working environment for all employees.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including detailed reports on repairs, replacements, and inspections.
- Collaborate with engineers and other technicians to troubleshoot complex mechanical issues, providing technical support and expertise.
- Keep abreast of the latest maintenance techniques and industry best practices to continuously improve maintenance procedures and outcomes.
Qualifications:
- Associate degree or technical certification in Mechanical Engineering, Maintenance Technology, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience working as a mechanical technician in power plants, with a strong background in maintenance and repair of mechanical equipment.
- Proven experience with the maintenance and operation of Gas-Gas Heaters (GGHs), valves, FD fans, and turbines commonly found in power plants.
- Familiarity with mechanical parts removal and installation techniques, with the ability to work on a wide range of mechanical systems and components.
- Strong understanding of safety standards and regulations applicable to mechanical maintenance in power plant environments.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, with the capacity to diagnose and resolve mechanical issues swiftly and effectively.
- Proficiency in using tools and equipment necessary for the maintenance and repair of mechanical systems.
- Effective communication skills, capable of working collaboratively with maintenance teams and sharing knowledge and findings.
- Willingness to engage in continuous learning and training to keep up-to-date with technological advancements and maintenance practices in the power industry.
