**Job Title**:IT Maintenance & Helpdesk Technician

**Reports to**:IT Manager

**Introduction**:Gulf University is nationally accredited University which was established by his highness’s the prime minister’s cabinet decree number 1649-03 issued on the 2nd of September 2001. GU aims to establish itself as a distinguished provider of higher education that will appeal to international, Bahraini and GCC students who prefer to be educated in a cultural environment acceptable to parents, students, and labor market alike.

**1. **Required Qualifications and Experience**:

- Bahraini National
- Bachelor’s degree / Diploma in computer related field
- Preferred two years’ experience in similar field

**2. **Preferred qualifications and experience**
- Knowledge of hardware, networking, cabling and electrical systems.
- Ability to diagnose and rectify a range of hardware and software problems.
- Ability to provide advanced technical assistance and comprehensive problem resolution to end users.

- Excellent oral and written communication skills (English & Arabic)
- Ability to lead, manage and collaborate with team
- Ability to create and maintain effective work relationships with staff and students.
- Ability to deal effectively with stress and to adapt to emerging issues
- Excellent report writing and presentation skills

**4. **Roles and Responsibilities**:
1. Investigates, analyzes, and resolves complex hardware problems on university computer systems; performs advanced hardware repairs and maintenance, technical assistance, and support to all end-users.

2. Evaluates existing infrastructure hardware, cabling and performs upgrades, based on requirements.

3. Installs, customizes, configures, and tests new software and hardware.

4. Provides general and in-depth technical guidance, assistance, training, and maintenance support to end users, as requested.

5. Performs routine, day-to-day hardware maintenance as assigned and as per related maintenance plan/schedule.

6. Create/Provide frequent reports and dashboards to HOD.

9. Other duties as requested by department or university.
