Pump Technician

**Job Description: Pump Technician Summary**:
Supervise, troubleshoot, repair, sell and install water pumps and water treatment for water wells. Responsible for all people, property and environmental risks and exposures on the job site. Responsibilities and Duties:

- Understand principle of operations of pumps, wells and have ability to troubleshoot systems.
- Travel to job site and stay overnight as needed.
- Service and install commercial pumping systems and water treatment equipment.
- Sell wells, pumps, and water treatment equipment as needed.
- Repairs pumps of paper making machinery: Examines pumps for malfunctioning and to locate damage or wear, such as blowout packing, misalignment of pump shaft, slippage of drive belt, worn bearings, or need for lubrication.
- Observes operation of pumps and feels for heat and vibration of parts to detect cause of malfunctioning.
- Should have knowledge of control panel operations.
- Dismantles pumps and performs repairs, such as cleaning impellers, repacking stuffing boxes, tightening glands, and replacing bearings, using handtools.
- Keep service truck stocked and maintained.
- Take night calls for service on a regular basis.
- Fill out all paperwork properly, accurately, and in a timely fashion including job worksheets and timecards.
- Keep equipment and designated yard area neat and clean at all times.
- Be familiar with the safe and general operation of all equipment used on the job site, troubleshooting any mechanical problems in the field and ensure that the assistant can do the same.
- Help out in other areas as needed.
- Wear clean uniforms and be neat in appearance.
- Take part in training sessions, workshops, etc.
- Maintain good communication with customers, fellow employees and manager.
- Follow all Companies and Safety Rules, Procedures and Policies.
- Work with customers and fellow employees in a professional and courteous manner.
- Be responsible for keeping a balanced inventory while keeping waste to a minimum.
- Understand development of all types of wells.
- Understand use of electrical instruments including 1 and 3 phase electrical systems and components.
- Ability to keep co-works, clients and equipment safe.
- Ability to weld, including but not limited to aluminum.

**Job Requirements**:
High School/Diploma or Certification in pump technician/installation.

Should have 4-6yrs of experience helpful Abilities and Skills: Good communication skills, good mechanical background, welding skills (wire feed and stick)
