Drafstman

**Job Requirements**
- Education: Diploma or BSc in Civil Engineering, Architecture or degree from a technical college
- Experience: minimum of 3 years _(roadworks and infrastructure projects)_
- Can join immediately

**Job Summary**

Civil drafters are capable of combining both technical knowledge and artistic skills together to create maps and other key planning documents. Civil drafters often collaborate with other technical professionals and contractors on the planning and execution of civil projects.

**Responsibilities**:

- Liaise with architects and engineers to gather product and structural requirements and designs
- Calculate dimensions, weight limitations and requirements in materials
- Describe production methods step-by-step (including equipment and software types to be used)
- Create detailed designs with computer-aided design (CAD) software
- Design diagrams, maps and layouts to illustrate workflow
- Prepare and review rough sketches and review them along with the engineering team
- Identify potential operational issues and redesign products to improve functionality
- Ensure final designs comply with regulations and quality standards
- Create manuals that describe existing products’ operation, features and maintenance

**Job Knowledge and Skills**
- Civil engineering Basics
- Excellent knowledge of design and visualizations software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D or similar
- Proficiency in site layout, grading, utility design, erosion control, regulatory approvals etc
- Ability to design as instructed
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Hands-on experience with computer-aided design (CAD) software
- Familiarity with 3D modelling tools
- Good math skills
- Ability to meet deadlines

**Relationship**

Reporting to project manager

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: BD200.000 - BD350.000 per month
