Principal Architect

Responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating every aspect of an architectural or building project. He/she shall monitor and manage projects assigned, undertake quality management, and be responsible for timely completion.

Primary responsibilities include creating concepts, preparing scheme designs and developing detailed drawing through all the stages of the project.

Shall have strong leadership skills and the ability to extract maximum productivity from the team members. He / she is also expected to handle complete Client interfacing and have the ability to handle projects independently.

**Managerial Functions**
- Provide Managerial direction to Architects and other team members on a day-to-day basis and ensure that design excellence is achieved throughout.
- Leads the design process and coordination activities for all projects he works on in detail.
- Runs regular checks and reviews to all project drawings to ensure quality compliance on regular basis.
- Coordinate and assign job duties to project team members to ensure smooth work operations. Ensure all projects are completed in time and on budget.
- Ensure proper documentation of all projects in all stages. Further ensure timely submission to department heads and other disciplines
- Monitor and ensure timely completion of all phases of the projects.
- Correspondence and communication with Clients and other agencies.

**Technical Functions**
- If required, handle projects independently with mínimal support from Associate Director.
- Contribute to preparation of tender bids and fee proposals in coordination with the Associate Director and Director.
- Make appropriate value judgments with respect to corrective works that support the design intent and performance goals of the projects.
- Perform and/or direct material and building systems research and participate in the coordination and preparation of project specifications.
- Manages the QA/QC process at the right time for all the design stages.
- Manages the client expectations and take the right actions at the right time regarding any deviation from the agreed scope of work.
- Enforce adherence to authority byelaws and guidelines, including fire and life safety codes.
- Prepare monthly progress reports during the precontract design stage for submission to the Client.
- Preparation of RFPs and other procurement documents for the procurement of specialist consultants and other outside agencies.

**Job Type**: Permanent

**Salary**: BD1,700.000 - BD2,500.000 per month
