Job Description:

Amana Healthcare is seeking a Health and Safety Officer to oversee occupational health and safety standards across operations in Bahrain.

The successful candidate will promote a safe work environment by developing policies, conducting risk assessments, and ensuring compliance with Bahrain Labour Law and international safety regulations.

This role requires a dedicated and detail-oriented individual who can develop and implement effective health and safety policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement occupational health and safety policies, procedures, and programs
  • Conduct regular risk assessments and site inspections to identify hazards and ensure safe working conditions
  • Investigate incidents, accidents, or near misses and recommend corrective/preventive actions
  • Ensure compliance with local health and safety regulations, including Bahrain Labour Law and industry-specific standards
  • Deliver health and safety training and induction programs to staff and contractors
  • Maintain records of safety-related incidents, inspections, and corrective actions
  • Liaise with regulatory authorities, safety consultants, and emergency services as required
  • Prepare reports and documentation for audits, inspections, and management review
  • Promote a culture of safety awareness across all levels of the organization
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field
  • NEBOSH IGC Certification or equivalent is mandatory
  • Additional certifications such as ISO 45001 Lead Auditor, OSHA, or First Aid are an advantage
  • Minimum 3–5 years of relevant experience in health and safety
  • Knowledge of Bahraini health and safety laws and regulations
