The role of Fixed Assets, Inventory, and Leases Officer is a key position within the finance team.

Main Responsibilities:

  1. Fixed Assets Management: Maintain accurate records of fixed assets, including acquisitions, disposals, and transfers. Ensure proper depreciation in line with company policies and accounting standards. Assist in preparing capital expenditure budgets and forecasts. Coordinate with operations teams for timely capitalization of fixed assets.

  2. Inventory Management: Conduct regular inventory audits and reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness. Collaborate with procurement, production, and sales teams to forecast inventory needs and prevent overstocking or stockouts. Implement and monitor internal controls over inventory management and provisions. Analyze inventory data to identify trends, discrepancies, and areas for improvement.

  3. Leases Management: Manage the company's lease portfolio, ensuring all lease agreements are accurately recorded and maintained. Monitor lease payment schedules, ensuring timely payments and compliance with lease terms. Ensure compliance with accounting standards related to lease accounting (e.g., IFRS 16). Prepare and present lease-related reports and analysis.

  4. Reporting and Compliance: Prepare and submit regular reports on fixed assets, inventory, and leases. Ensure compliance with all relevant accounting standards, company policies, and legal requirements. Assist in internal and external audits related to fixed assets, inventory, and leases. Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness of fixed assets, inventory, and lease management.

  5. Collaboration and Support: Provide support to finance and accounting teams in relation to fixed assets, inventory, and leases. Collaborate with other departments to ensure alignment and accuracy in asset and inventory management. Train and guide relevant staff on processes related to fixed assets, inventory, and leases.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance and a minimum of 3+ years of relevant experience in finance/accounting. Strong business knowledge, financial knowledge, completeness, and accuracy are essential competencies for this role.
