We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Mechanical Technician to join our maintenance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of heavy vehicles and mechanical systems.

This includes performing routine maintenance and repairs on diesel-powered heavy vehicles, conducting inspections and repairs on quick release valves (QRVs), air compressors, and hydrant line components, as well as carrying out daily vehicle and equipment checks to ensure operational readiness.

The role also involves assisting in general mechanical repairs and minor fixes under the supervision of a Technician and supporting the Maintenance Supervisor in executing scheduled and unscheduled maintenance tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintenance and Repair: Perform routine maintenance and repairs on diesel-powered heavy vehicles, including dispensers, fuelers, pickups, vans, and specialized fuel sampling units.
  • Inspections and Repairs: Conduct inspections and repairs on QRVs fitted to hydrant lines, air compressors, and valves.
  • Daily Checks: Carry out daily vehicle and equipment checks to ensure operational readiness.

Preferred Attributes:

  • Fuel Handling Experience: Experience working in a fuel handling or aviation support environment.
  • Sytem Knowledge: Familiarity with hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
  • Proactive Attitude: Proactive attitude with a commitment to safety and quality.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Education: Completion of Technical Secondary School or equivalent.
  • Experience: 2–5 years of hands-on experience in mechanical and electrical systems of diesel-powered heavy vehicles.
  • Knowledge: Strong knowledge of heavy vehicle repair and maintenance procedures.
  • Language: Basic understanding of English (reading and writing) for technical documentation and communication.
  • Teamwork: Ability to work effectively in a team and follow instructions from supervisors and technicians.
