Job Overview
Our client, a prestigious organization in the Kingdom of Bahrain, seeks an accomplished Specialist Occupational Medicine Physician to join their esteemed team. The ideal candidate should possess a strong background in occupational medicine and a genuine passion for promoting employee health and well-being in the workplace.

About the Role
The successful applicant will be responsible for conducting comprehensive occupational health assessments and providing recommendations for employee health and safety. They will develop and implement strategies to prevent work-related injuries and illnesses, while also guiding management and employees on occupational health and safety policies and procedures. Additionally, they will collaborate with other healthcare professionals to create and implement health promotion programs, conduct research to stay updated on current regulations and best practices, manage employee health records, and identify potential hazards and risks in the workplace through regular audits and inspections. They will also provide training and education to employees on occupational health and safety topics, assist in developing return-to-work programs for employees on sick leave, and participate in reviewing company policies and procedures related to occupational health and safety.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive occupational health assessments and provide recommendations for employee health and safety.
  • Develop and implement strategies to prevent work-related injuries and illnesses.
  • Provide guidance and support to management and employees on occupational health and safety policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement health promotion programs.
  • Conduct research and stay up-to-date on current occupational health and safety regulations and best practices.
  • Manage and maintain employee health records and ensure confidentiality.
  • Conduct audits and inspections to identify potential hazards and risks in the workplace.
  • Provide training and education to employees on occupational health and safety topics.
  • Collaborate with HR and management to develop return-to-work programs for employees on sick leave.
  • Participate in the development and review of company policies and procedures related to occupational health and safety.

Qualifications
The ideal candidate must hold an MBBS Medical degree and specialization in Occupational Medicine. A valid license to practice as a Specialist Occupational Medicine is essential, along with a minimum of 5 years of experience in occupational medicine. In-depth knowledge of occupational health and safety regulations and best practices is required, along with strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ability to work independently and as part of a team, familiarity with electronic health record systems, and strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
