Solar Power Systems Specialist

We are looking for a skilled and experienced Solar Power Systems Engineer to design, develop, and implement solar photovoltaic systems for residential, commercial, and utility-scale projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and engineer solar PV systems including rooftop, ground-mount, and hybrid systems
  • Conduct site assessments and energy yield simulations using tools such as PVsyst or Helioscope
  • Create electrical single-line diagrams, layouts, and system specifications
  • Collaborate with project managers, procurement, and construction teams to ensure seamless project execution
  • Evaluate and select appropriate components based on technical and economic criteria
  • Ensure compliance with local regulations, codes (NEC, IEC, etc.), and safety standards
  • Perform performance analysis, system testing, and troubleshooting post-installation
  • Support permitting processes and coordinate with utilities for grid interconnection
  • Provide technical support during commissioning and operation phases

Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. A Masters degree is an advantage.
  • 3+ years of experience in solar PV system design and engineering
  • Strong understanding of solar technologies, energy storage, and grid-tied/off-grid systems
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, PVsyst, SketchUp, and other solar design tools
  • Familiarity with local and international electrical standards and permitting processes
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and work collaboratively
  • Certification from NABCEP or similar organization
  • Experience with hybrid solar + storage systems
  • Working knowledge of SCADA and remote monitoring systems
