Cloud Automation Specialist

We are seeking a Cloud Automation Specialist to join our Information Systems (IS) team. This role is an opportunity for a highly skilled technologist with a passion for Linux to build a career and drive success with those leveraging open source products.

The IS team at Canonical supports and maintains all of its IT production services, serving over 60 million Ubuntu users. As a Cloud Automation Specialist, you'll be in a unique position to drive operations automation to the next level, both in private clouds and public clouds.

Your primary responsibilities will include:
  • Defining infrastructure as code using version control, peer review, and CI/CD to roll out changes to applications and infrastructure.
  • Developing new features and improving the resilience and scalability of cloud and container portfolios.
  • Maintaining operational responsibility for core services, networks, and infrastructure.
  • Collaborating with development teams to design service architecture, documentation, playbooks, policies, and operational procedures.

Requirements:

To succeed in this role, you should have a strong modern engineering background, including experience with Linux networking, routing, firewalls, and storage. You should also have hands-on experience administering enterprise Linux servers and extensive knowledge of cloud computing concepts and technologies. Additionally, you should be able to communicate clearly and effectively in English and be motivated to troubleshoot from kernel to web.
