About the Role

The Gulf Air Group is seeking an experienced Airfield Operations Compliance Manager to join its team. This role will play a critical part in ensuring that our airfield operations meet the highest standards of safety, efficiency, and regulatory compliance.

Job Description

  • Supports HADCC with Oversight: The successful candidate will support the Head of Airside Development and Compliance Control (HADCC) with oversight of the aerodrome design and certification compliance program.
  • Auditing and Reporting: They will conduct regular audits and inspections to ensure compliance with local and international regulations, and provide reports to the HADCC on findings and recommendations for corrective action.
  • Airside Works Monitoring: The candidate will monitor all airsides works conducted by D&T/FM, contractors, and other relevant parties to ensure compliance with BCAA CAR001 regulations.
  • Corrective Action Plans: They will oversee the management of BCAA audit findings and facilitate the implementation of corrective action plans to achieve and maintain full compliance.
  • Aerodrome Certification Audit: The candidate will manage the Aerodrome Certification audit, including preparation for and administration of the audit schedule, and development of corrective action plans.
  • Communication and Coordination: They will serve as a primary coordinator with BCAA, D&T/FM, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth, safe, and efficient implementation of planned closures at the movement area.
  • Infrastructure Inspection: The candidate will conduct daily inspections of airside infrastructure, generating reports for HADCC on pavement conditions, markings, lighting, signages, and other observations that may impact aircraft safety or compliance.
  • Maintenance Program Review: They will support HADCC with the review of maintenance programs, schedules, and procedures developed by D&T/FM and/or contractors to ensure optimal operational integrity and compliance.
  • Reporting and Analysis: The candidate will develop and deliver a monthly report highlighting findings and observations related to infrastructure, including recommendations for corrective and preventive actions to HADCC.
  • Safety Promotion and Improvement: They will actively participate in the investigation of airfield infrastructure non-conformances to establish root cause and lessons learned, and monitor airside safety practices to ensure continuous improvement in safety standards.
  • VDGS Configuration and Aircraft Allowance Chart Review: The candidate will ensure that the Visual Docking Guidance System (VDGS) is configured to meet safety and operational requirements, and review and update the Aircraft Allowance Chart to ensure accuracy and compliance with operational, safety, and regulatory requirements.
  • Aircraft Movement Studies and Safety Instructions: They will collaborate with HADCC to conduct comprehensive studies on aircraft movement in the airfield using Pathplanner and Auto CAD software, and develop safety instructions and procedures for such activities where necessary.
  • GAP Analysis and Manual Reviews: The candidate will work under the direction of HADCC to carry out a gap analysis to determine BAC's level of compliance against aerodrome certificate requirements, and assist with the review and update of the Aerodrome Manual and Safety Management System Manual to ensure compliance with BCAA CAR001 requirements.

Requirements

  • Education and Qualifications: University degree in civil engineering or equivalent qualification, and ICAO/ACI certification in aerodrome compliance and safety.
  • Experience: Minimum 5 years' experience with special focus on aerodrome operations and compliance.
