About the Role

The Senior Lead will be responsible for managing the strategic, technical and operational aspects of core banking systems. This role will oversee the end-to-end delivery, optimization and integration of core banking platforms with business requirements, regulatory needs and best practices.

This includes managing changes and upgrades on core banking systems, coordinating with various stakeholders to support technology strategy and ensuring alignment with standards and regulations.

Additionally, the role will assist in setting up and developing a team to enable the implementation of a collaborative core banking management program involving business and IT staff.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Planning and Execution
    • Lead the strategic planning and execution for core banking ecosystems to ensure alignment with overall technology and business strategy.
    • Collaborate with senior stakeholders to ensure core banking functionalities meet evolving business requirements.
    • Develop an annual strategic plan to maintain core banking systems and their ecosystems.
  • Governance and Compliance
    • Develop and maintain frameworks to ensure best practices in system usage, configuration and customization.
    • Ensure core banking systems comply with all applicable IT Architecture Standards and Security standards.
  • Technical Leadership
    • Oversee the architecture, development and integration of core banking systems.
    • Guide teams in troubleshooting, system enhancements and resolving complex incidents.
    • Ensure seamless interaction between core banking platforms and other banking systems.
  • Collaboration and Stakeholder Management
    • Work closely with Data Protection Officers to ensure data privacy and compliance with relevant regulations.
    • Partner with other technology teams to support data-driven initiatives and integration requirements.
  • Leadership and People Management
    • Foster customer-centricity and manage a responsive IT team focusing on operations and end-user satisfaction.
    • Provide strategic leadership and direction to the team; setting clear objectives, priorities and performance expectations.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Proven track records of leading large-scale system implementations, upgrades and migrations in the banking industry.
  • Extensive experience in managing core banking platforms, with a strong understanding of T24, Infinity and TDH.
  • Strong expertise in banking operations, including wholesale, retail, treasury and digital.
  • Solid understanding of cloud infrastructure management.
  • Proficiency in vendor management and application support services.
  • Experience with IT Service Management (ITSM) frameworks and tools.
  • Familiarity with DevOps and DevSecOps practices.
  • Knowledge of banking regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Experience with data integration and ensuring seamless interaction between core banking platforms and other banking systems.
  • Strong leadership skills with experience in managing cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to plan/execute strategic system upgrades and implementations.
  • Proven capability in disaster recovery planning and management.
  • A broad understanding of emerging technologies in the banking sector.

Bachelor's degree or advanced degree in Information Technology or related field is required.

Professional certifications in Temenos and project management or service management are desirable.

At least 14 years of technology or digital experience and at least 10 years in core banking roles are preferred.
