Public Cloud Distribution Engineer

You will be working closely with our experienced team to build and maintain Ubuntu Server for cloud environments. As a Public Cloud Distribution Engineer, you will collaborate proactively within a distributed team to foster a software ecosystem with seamless user experience for all Ubuntu users.

Your responsibilities will include evaluating contributions of other engineers to maintain high-quality software standards, collaborating with other teams in the Ubuntu and Debian communities, and debugging issues on open source code and team maintained code. You will work with the Ubuntu Engineering Server team to maintain and package software such as cloud agents and traditional server workloads.

The ideal candidate will have strong fundamentals in Python, interest in learning Linux distribution packaging, and fundamental understanding of package management and dependency resolution. Experience in public cloud operations or architecture, open source maintenance or contribution, and containerization and virtualization are also highly valued.
