Job Description

We are seeking a dynamic Risk Management and Compliance Specialist to join our team at Rotana Hotels.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that our Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) and food safety management system is established, implemented, and maintained in accordance with HACCP/ISO standards as well as local and international regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish, implement, and maintain the EHS and food safety management system in line with HACCP/ISO standards and local/international regulations.
  • Provide top management with necessary reports on the EHS and food safety management system, along with recommendations for improvement.
  • Lead or participate in various types of EHS/HACCP/ISO/Sustainability/OHSMS compliance and/or management system audits, and provide guidance on conformance and corrective actions required.
  • Establish audit requirements to ensure compliance with food safety, occupational safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Oversee all audit results, evaluate trends, communicate results, and establish action plans to ensure the hotel remains in compliance with corporate and regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in incident investigations, document root causes, communicate results, and set corrective actions required to prevent reoccurrence.
  • Monitor and identify relevant changes in Sustainability/Health and Safety/Food safety local regulations and laws, and update internal procedures, policies, and forms accordingly.
  • Drive improvement and track goals achievement through collection, analysis, and communication of EHS goals and measurements.
  • Review action plans with the Hotel EHS committee to reach set goals.
  • Conduct training for all employees on EHS and food safety policies and procedures.
  • Undertake regular EHS and food safety inspections at the workplace, and implement corrective action where required.
  • Ensure suppliers/contractors comply with EHS & food safety standards through audits and communications.
  • Manage and control all documents related to EHSMS & food safety, and the corresponding reports.
  • Collaborate with various departments to implement corporate social responsibility activities aimed at contributing positively to the community and environment.
  • Oversee the implementation and monitoring of Rotana Earth programs within the hotel.

Occupational Health and Safety Responsibilities:

  • Develop OHSMS manuals, policies, and procedures, and review periodically or less if required.
  • Lead the implementation of the OHS System, and monitor the system through inspections and meetings with the Head of departments and operational colleagues.
  • Retrain active involvement in periodic reviews, and assist in setting EHS objectives and targets.
  • Ensure new employees receive all OHS training related to their specific tasks.
  • Report to senior management and sector regulatory authority on the OHSMS performance.
  • Evaluate legal requirements, update, communicate, and implement throughout the property.
  • Establish and plan audits and inspections to ensure compliance with OHS regulations.
  • Oversight and communication of all audit results.
  • Establish action plans to ensure hotel compliance with OHS regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct and regularly review risk assessment for all areas in the hotel in coordination with concerned departments, and implement specific control measures.
