Chief System Architect Position
The role of a Chief System Architect involves leading the design and architecture efforts for open source projects. This position requires a strong technical background, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to motivate teams.

About This Role:
This is a leadership position responsible for managing the Security Operations team, which focuses on designing and implementing Canonical security practices, techniques, tools, systems, and policies.

Your Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain high-quality code using languages such as Golang, Rust, Python, C/C++, or TypeScript/React.
  • Leverage your technical expertise to lead design and architecture efforts for our open source project.
  • Foster collaboration and communication among team members to ensure successful project outcomes.
  • Mentor and guide colleagues in their professional development, helping them grow within the company.
  • Display technical leadership and contribute to the growth of Canonical and our communities.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to debug issues and produce high-quality solutions.
  • Contribute to creating and maintaining accurate technical documentation.
Your Qualifications:
  • You have an exceptional academic track record from both high school and university.
  • You hold an undergraduate degree in Computer Science or STEM, or have a compelling narrative about your alternative path.
  • You possess strong technical leadership skills and the ability to motivate teams.
  • You are well-organized, self-starting, and able to deliver projects on schedule.
