We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate professional to provide vital support services to expectant parents and families with children under three years of age. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of child development, maternal/child health, and family dynamics.

About the Role:

">
  • Assess and screen expectant parents and families with children under age 3 for risk using Navy NPS screening tools.
  • Provide home visiting services using the Nurturing Parenting Program for at-risk families.
  • Offer information and referral services to families not at risk for abuse.
  • Report suspected child abuse or domestic violence to local authorities and Family Advocacy Representatives in compliance with Navy and state regulations.
  • Ensure all home visitation services are documented in the FFSMIS NPS Case Management System.
  • Participate in emergency preparedness exercises and implement response plans as required.
  • Support public awareness campaigns to enhance family preparedness.

Key Responsibilities:

The selected candidate will be responsible for providing home visiting services to families in need, assessing and reducing risk of child abuse, offering parenting education, and connecting families to essential community resources. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential for this role, particularly when working with diverse families.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in social work or nursing (or equivalent experience in related fields).
  • Minimum of three years of experience in maternal/child health, child development, social work, or public health.
  • Nurses must maintain current state licensure or certification.
  • Experience working with families, particularly those with young children, in a case management or health services role.
  • Familiarity with child abuse prevention and risk assessment strategies is highly desirable.
