Lead Engineer for Public Cloud Services

As a Senior Engineering Manager, you will lead a team of skilled engineers in delivering high-quality software solutions for our public cloud services. This role requires both technical and management expertise to oversee the stability and functionality of our cloud offerings. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure that your team is growing as engineers, doing valuable work, and enjoying their time at Canonical.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software development, preferably in Python or Golang. Experience with agile development methodologies, code reviews, and architectural leadership is essential. You will also need to represent the team in direct partner engagement and collaborate with other leaders in the organization. Our goal is to deliver exceptional public cloud VM experiences while celebrating the unique features of each cloud provider.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
  • Strong background in software development, preferably in Python or Golang
  • Experience with agile development methodologies, code reviews, and architectural leadership
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Able to travel up to 15% for internal and external events
