Job Opportunity: Estimation Manager

We are seeking a seasoned Estimation Manager to join our team in Bahrain.

The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day management and planning of estimation resources and processes to enhance our offerings to clients and improve our price position, thereby increasing business activity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Managing all estimation-related processes
  • Interpreting and checking tender documents, drawings, technical and commercial specifications, quantities, and estimates
  • Reviewing and preparing bills of quantities when necessary
  • Reviewing and scrutinizing contract documents
  • Managing and supervising the estimating team as well as planning and programming workload including post-tender project requirements of handovers, awards, and commercial support when needed
  • Supporting cost control
  • Maintaining supplier databases and consistently seeking new companies to pre-qualify for inclusion on suppliers lists
  • Developing bid cost estimates for specified deadlines for submission and managing the bid calendar to ensure compliance with commitments
  • Preparing and reviewing material take-offs to allow purchasing departments to obtain suppliers' prices
  • Coordinating with setting-out and production departments for successful project execution
  • Managing and reviewing the performance of the estimating team
  • Establishing and periodically reviewing estimating policies and procedures of the company
  • Managing the retention of important bid documents/technical specifications according to company policies and procedures established by the controller
  • Working closely with management to prioritize and periodically review the bid calendar to ensure timely submissions

Requirements:

  • Minimum ten to fifteen years' experience in the same field working for large-size joinery manufacturing companies
  • Sound knowledge of estimation for high-quality joinery products and keen awareness of commercial and contractual issues to protect company interests
  • Proven track record as a successful leader at senior management level in the joinery manufacturing industry
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and ability to work successfully in a multinational market environment
  • Good organizational skills and ability to balance fulfilling objectives and targets while maintaining adherence to processes
  • Good situational awareness of the industry as well as familiarity with interior materials and their relationships
  • Fluent in web-based communication applications such as MS Office, MS Teams, and MS 365 applications
  • Fluent English communicators and other languages will be an added advantage
  • Excellent time management track record
  • Self-driven and have natural leadership qualities
