Librarian Role Summary

The role of a Librarian involves providing students with the necessary resources and skills to access information effectively. The ideal candidate will have excellent organizational skills, strong communication abilities, and a deep understanding of literature.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Assist students in locating relevant information sources.
  2. Analyze student needs to determine suitable information.
  3. Show students how to access information efficiently.
  4. Support students in navigating online resources.
  5. Coordinate programs such as Accelerated Reader (AR).
  6. Collaborate with teachers to provide materials for classroom instruction.
  7. Lend and collect books, periodicals, videos, and other materials.
  8. Inspect returned items for damage, check due dates, and calculate fines for overdue material.
  9. Stay updated on current literature by reading book reviews, publishers' announcements, and catalogs.
  10. Develop and maintain databases to aid research skills.
  11. Organize returned materials and return them to designated shelves or storage areas.
  12. Negotiate contracts for material and equipment acquisition.
  13. Supervise students during library activities.

  15. Track student library activity and report daily library events.
