Engineering Lifecycle Excellence Specialist

The primary focus of this role is to enhance the readiness of Ubuntu for mission-critical environments. This involves bridging open source engineering processes with regulated technology platform requirements, focusing on compliance and certification.
This position requires a deep understanding of process management in an agile environment, as well as experience in implementing continuous improvement processes. The successful candidate will have a strong track record of developing and growing people and teams, with a passion for engineering excellence and open source.
Key responsibilities include:
- Representing Ubuntu in front of customers, partners, and consortia to demonstrate engineering excellence
- Coordinating and guiding Canonical engineering ways of working
- Developing skills through coaching, feedback, and hands-on technical leadership
- Setting and managing expectations with other engineering teams, senior management, and external stakeholders
- Advocating and advancing modern, agile software development practices
Preferred qualifications include knowledge or certification addressing industry standards such as ISO IEC 9001, 25010, and 15504 / SPICE, as well as experience working on successful open source projects known for their demonstrated engineering processes.
